the country is getting ridiculously stoopid, or rather, the world is getting ridiculously stoopid. i wonder wats wrong with the economy. a year or 2 back, economy was recovering steadily from the sars downturn in the early 2000s. business was good, stock prices were soaring and people were pumping money into funds... china-india funds n particular. the fund was suppose to boom bcos of the 2008 olympics. it did... but not as much as expected. den 1 bank busted followed by another... and even after bush stepped down as the president of USA, the world's economy suddenly went into shambles.

den major companies started going on mass retrenchment, downsizing, restructuring yada yada. shares, stocks and funds dipped so rapidly overnight it will score 10/10 in the diving arena. so many people lost their job or turned bankrupt overnight. and if these are not bad enuf, the price of commodities rocketed sky high. everything went up... petrol price, food, transportation, utilities, housing etc etc. people were forced to give up their cars, their house, their lifestyles... standard of living suddenly became too high for many living in developed/developing countries. den more n more people turn to public transport. n the public transport tt always increase fares yet gave empty promises became overloaded and the poor peasants always get squashed taking public transport day in day out. even if one continue to own private cars, their car get squashed on the roads in long peak hours jams as well (jam is so bad even at 6ish am! i really pity us the peasants).

and after a rare visit to the 'monopolized supermarket' last week, i just got to know how ridiculously expensive foods are nowadays. no wonder high class restaurants keep having promotion... to lure back their customers who have turned to hawker centres, foodcourts for cheaper food. which in turn resulted in more crowds, longer waiting time, warmer atmosphere and sweatier clothings. and when i whine in this blog, there are people out there searching the rubbish bins for leftover food to fill their stomach. so i better count my blessings and keep my mouth shut!
