started the morning bright and chirpy. put on my new corporate polo, new pants and new socks and i was all set for the big day. bumped into jvw on the train... surprise surprise. so shock to see the ops director from US taking train to our workplace LOL she has been with us for a week... coming in early to sort out some issues prior the opening. she was rather friendly and i can confirm that she's gay (yeah yeah...with all the rumors going on and on for a week) after she gave me that brotherly nudge. totally stunned.
when i reached workplace, i realised kev and me wearing same coloured pants!!! *EEEEEWWWWWWWWW* so gross... since the corporate polo came in only 2 colors - black or white, most of us wore pants of similar shades of colour to match it... so ended up alot of people look like replica of the other *hohoho* xmm wore almost the same shade as me as well *shy*
our ceo and the minister of trade came in at ard 10ish. was not ard to see the lion dance and listen to the opening speeches as i was bz with screening. and thank god i was not one of the event hosts...so dun have to bring the guests ard the unit. managed to join the rest of the gang for lunch at 1pm and was herded to the conference room shortly for an internal all hands meeting. the meeting started with almighty big boss introducing the various p*izer leaders present. my oh my, they came from all over the world and were quite highly rank... at least half were from the leadership team. there were ceo himself of cos, ceo's righthand man, grd asia head, ops head from sandwich and groton, cpw head from shanghai, asian legal head from malaysia as well as some finance head from god noes where :P and of cos not forgetting the ops directors and mds from our fellow research units!
we had a good tok with the ceo... but as usual lah... nobody asked qns during q&a. so witch have to L L ask the questions herself *lmfao* we cont 2nd round of munching after the meeting... and were so relectant to go back to work. by the time we finish interacting and clearing up, it was already 4.
the lunch gang had a good heart-to-heart tok amongst ourselves after the ceremony (after all the silly quarrels and tension that lasted for almost 3 wks). at last we managed to sort things out... guess all the tension earlier on was due to mostly miscommunications as well as the opening ceremony. everyone was so stressed over the event and i think that led to everyone being so highly irritable earlier on. oh well~ at least we are back to norm again today... went out for a drink after work. hope we dun quarrel again la... forever liddat.
