a929 restarted on wed. ya... we set sail again 2 mths after hitting a huge iceberg. the rebuilding process was slow and painful... but it was sweet as well cos everyone worked real hard and we were very united.

PB contributed enormously by helping us get the new machines in. she chased fis*er everyday for the machines, whacked alot of their technical n sales staff in the process *keke* Kev was v helpful in linking up the machines. he spent countless nites working till 10ish in the unit to set up the database just because the technical support from the vendor SUX! DS came from the uk to help train the nurses. as a respiratory physician, she taught us alot on spirometry techniques as well as interpretation of respiratory curves. she was v patience and detailed with her teaching and we are all v grateful to her. LD continued with the refining and retraining after DS left. she trained up 6 spiro nurses and all of them are equally capable as her.

I personally must thank boss cos even thou he is not the PI for the study, he contributed the most by helping to set up the system, get the software going, self explore then teach us how to use the entire system, personalized the reports (all DIY without any other support!) and patiently imparting his knowledge to me. and i am glad hock was able to pick himself up and proved himself during these 2 days that he is equally as capable as boss when it comes to spiro studies.

at this moment of time, i felt relieve that everything is so far so good. and we have compliant and good subjects unlike the previous ones. however, we have 4 more periods to go for this cohort and i am def not going to take things easy. i have learnt alot from this failure. and like wat mr lee said... its always good to take a heavy fall when i'm still young. at least i know how to pick myself up. i finally understood wat he meant.
