trip to semakau~

had a fun day out at semakau today. for those who has no slightest idea where or wat semakau is... semakau is an island lying at the southern end of the mainland. it has been developed into a landfill use to dump waste that cannot be incinerated. we set off in the dark morning and reached semakau at ard 6am (boatride was smooth!). it was pitch black and we had to find our way thru a small 'jungle' before we finally reach the beach.

it was a great day out for us. the weather was fine and the sea was peaceful. the tide was pretty low today and we managed to walk quite a distance out into the lower littoral. we saw alot of species...many common intertidal species, some less seen species etc. gotta say it was quite rewarding for all of us.
