881~

alrite, i have to confess that i was left with no choice but to catch this movie. jc n me had planned to watch invisible target but aiyah... abit the wols but already 下档 liao. so we had to settle for this.

this movie machiam like a musical...about 90% of the time is people singing. and since the songs sang was all in hokkien, i must say this must be the very first hokkien musical in singapore's history lol the story is about a pair of 姐妹 aka the papaya sisters and their love for 歌台. about how they struggled with their everyday life (between family, relationship, illness, earning a living etc). 715 took the role of a mute who fell in love with both the sisters... not a v significant role but ok la... not an eye-sore to me at all *keke*

a big chunk of the dialogues are in hokkien... v chim ones and i had problem grasping esp when they sing but when you follow the chinese subtitles, gotta say all the lyrics are very meaningful. and the hokkien songs are very nice! not those taiwanese ones i listen to but very local. some parts of the show(very little la) abit 夸 la but i must confess its a very touching movie... i cried lor... abit la towards the end whilst reading the lyrics. when i turned over... i saw jc crying as well... hahaha...

although this show cannot be compared to any of jack neo's production in terms of 搞笑指数, localness and amount of vulgarities used lol, i must say i din find watching it a waste of money lor! in fact quite enjoyed the way everything was put acrossed... enjoyed the lyrics... enjoyed the 七月歌台 atmosphere... most importantly i think the 2 lead actress did a fantastic job. loved the chinese song at the ending as well...

" 一人一半... 感情不散..."
